Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas race on Saturday
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The fifth anniversary Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas 10 mile race will be held this Saturday, October 9, in The Woodlands with festivities at Market Street. Children ages 5 – 12 take off at 7 a.m. for the third annual One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run, and the 10 For Texas 10-mile race, certified and sanctioned by USA Track & Field, starts at 7:30 a.m. Vendors will be selling a variety of concessions for spectators at Market Street, and there will be an athletes-only tent for participants as well.
The Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas race is a 10-mile course starting on Lake Robbins Drive, traveling down Woodlands Parkway and on to Lake Woodlands Drive. The race ends at Market Street with a Texas-sized post-race party featuring the Buck Yeager Band. The race and post party will have a Texas flair, and all spectators and runners are encouraged to join in the fun following the race.
On Saturday, October 9, 2010 the following roads will have the outside lane closed to automobile traffic from 6 to 10:30 a.m. to accommodate runners in the Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas and One 4 Texas races:
- Six Pines Drive: southbound, Lake Woodlands Drive to Lake Robbins Drive
- Lake Robbins Drive: westbound, Six Pines Drive to Grogan's Mill Road
- Grogan’s Mill Road: southbound, Timberloch Place to Woodlands Parkway
- Woodlands Parkway: westbound, Grogan's Mill Road to Cochran's Crossing Drive
- Cochran’s Crossing Drive: northbound, Woodlands Parkway to Lake Woodlands Drive
- Lake Woodlands Drive, eastbound, Cochran's Crossing Drive to Six Pines Drive
